About Me
A lot of my work is focused on the characters I create. Whether those be ones based on series I enjoy or my original story concepts. It comes from the satisfaction in creating whole worlds of people and creatures, so similar, yet different from our own. Fleshing out their looks, their personalities, their impact on the story, it is where most of my enjoyment comes from. I mostly draw digitally, as it allows for more freedom with the tools provided, like colors and brush options. I like vibrant colors, mystical effects, and a more cartoony style, which I feel working digitally helps me capture.
I have wanted to pursue art as a career since 2014. I would always doodle and scribble as a child, but it was not until I won a spot in my fourth grade Symphony in Color contest that I really felt a connection. I was something I enjoyed, and others thought I was good at it. Good enough to get my piece hung up in the Indiana State Museum. It was not until more recently in 2023 that I wanted to create my own story. I have been making characters based on existing series for years, but it was not until my senior year AP Studio Class that I started making completely original characters. I made a new character for all ten pieces over the year, and the would all later be reworked into my story.
I create characters to tell stories of my own. My inspiration comes from the shows, games, and books I have taken in throughout my life. I want to make worlds like the ones that inspired me, to try and capture that same wonder. Whenever I find a new story I feel connected to, I sketch and brainstorm a new character, what they would look like, how they would act, and how they would impact the story. I take this practice and apply it to my own story. Making characters from nothing is especially satisfying, since I must make everything about them, their family, their struggles, their entire world. In this process, I will look to myself for some inspiration.
My goal as an artist is to one day produce and publish my stories. To share my characters with the world. Whether it be through games, graphic novels, or shows, I want to put my thoughts and characters out there. I want to tell their stories and one day, inspire others like I once was.
